Compatible Unit Assignment Properties Dialog

Used to make changes to certain editable properties of an assigned compatible unit. Use this dialog to customize the unit for the requirements of a design.

SettingDescription
Work Location The work location where the unit is assigned. System-generated.
Compatible Unit The name of the assigned compatible unit. System-generated.
Status The status of the assigned compatible unit, which affects cost calculations. The default status is derived from the global Life Cycle Status setting of the active job default.
Feature The feature with which the assigned unit is associated.
Labor Difficulty Factor A value that reflects the extra labor anticipated in the installation of this unit (due to difficult terrain, for example). Bentley OpenUtilities Designer multiplies the Labor Cost value of the unit by the Labor Difficulty Factor value. The values displayed in the Labor Difficulty Factor list are derived from a customer-configured data table. Choose a value from the list or type a value in the .
Linear Allowance A percentage that reflects the extra material anticipated for the assigned unit at this work location. This attribute applies only to work spans.
Labor Type The type of labor used in working with the unit. If the unit is assigned as a variable-rate unit, the Labor Type setting determines the labor rate used by Bentley OpenUtilities Designer in calculating costs. Labor rates are defined for labor types during configuration.
Work Type The type of work environment in which construction takes place. The Work Type setting, in conjunction with the assigned unit's life-cycle status, reflects the man-hours required by the unit (for variable-rate units) or level of labor cost (for fixed-rate units) and thus determines the labor rate used by Bentley OpenUtilities Designer in calculating costs.
Quantity The quantity of the assigned unit needed at this work location.
Cost The cost of the assigned unit at this work location. System-generated.
Plant Account The code for the account to which the unit's costs should be charged. Accounting codes are company-specific and are loaded into the database during configuration.
Scrap The default scrap value of the unit. The value is applied as a credit to the total design cost if this feature is enabled. The Scrap is displayed only if the assigned unit has a status of Proposed Remove. By default, scrap values are excluded from design costs. Select the Scrap check to include this credit in the cost calculations.
Salvage The default salvage value of the unit. The value is applied as a credit to the total design cost if this feature is enabled. The Salvage is displayed only if the assigned unit has a status of Proposed Remove. By default, salvage values are excluded from design costs. Select the Salvage check to include this credit in the cost calculations.
